Decolonizing Salon: Program

October

6/10, 7-9pm: Introduction to the basic concepts of postcolonial theory and decolonization (with Aktina Stathaki, programmer of 1927 art space).

Depending on the participants’ interest, a reading group will be organized in order to continue the discussion on these topics.

14/10, 7-9pm: Collage as a social activism tool (with Mila Gonzalez, curator of the Collage Chile collective).

25-26/10, 6-9pm: Deconstructing national symbols. Workshop with Nuno Coelho, Porto-based designer.

 

November

8/11 & 15/11, 6-9pm: Decolonization, Environment, and Public Space. A reading group coordinated by Athens-based activist and writer Yavor Tarinski.

 

Note: All activities will be held in 1927 Art Space (Kipselis 35, 1st floor, Athens). All health protocols will be observed. Those who wish to participate in person will be required to show their vaccination certificate or proof of negative Covid test. Online participation will also be possible, via Zoom (in a link that will be announced before the events).
